About Me
I'm Derell Scott and I'm "Just a Fungi". An avid forager and mushroom enthusiast that grew up in the Twin Cities. I first discovered my love for the outdoors when I was a teen and my grandfather brought me down to forage for mushrooms as we rode ATVs in Southeast Minnesota. It was then that I found my first morel mushroom and I was hooked ever since. fast-forward 15 years-- I expanded my knowledge of mushrooms, got my Degree in Environmental Science at the University of Minnesota, worked as an arborist, and am now starting my journey to teach others how to connect with nature through foraging. The forest has been my place for peace and tranquility, and it is my goal to help others find the same.
